The ideal candidate for our Design Intern role has a passion for web and mobile technology and a portfolio of design work showcasing his/ her talents.

He or she will also need to have experience using traditional design tools, including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign. Creating wireframes and mock-ups, as well as any web design skills (HTML/ CSS) is a plus.

The internship would run 8 weeks, and would take take between 8 – 16 hours a week. We would expect you to come into our offices in River North 1-2 days a week during the internship to work directly with the product development and marketing teams.

We need a UIUX Designer with a passion for mobile technology.

  • First and foremost, you should have an excellent eye for design. You should know great mobile/ web UI when you see it, and be able to explain why it’s great (even if you didn’t create it!).
  • You should have a passion for mobile technology… you should love applications, and consider yourself an early adopter of the newest technologies.
  • You’ll need to be a Photoshop samurai (obviously, better than a ninja). You should also be fluent in Illustrator, OmniGraffle, or whatever you use to create wireframes.
  • You should have at least a working knowledge of XHTML/CSS. If you can cutup your own comps, so much the better (Fireworks, anyone?)
  • Of course, we’re looking for self-starters – candidates who can jump in quickly without a lot of direction, and learn by asking the right questions.
  • Finally, you should have a solid portfolio of mobile/ web application design. We want to see that you’ve built great mobile/ web interfaces before, not just great websites.

Experience

This is a middle-level position; we’re looking for somebody who has at least 3+ years of UI/UX design experience.
